944 Trick Interior
Guys, I am going to start customizing a NA '84 944 with my daughter 14 yrs old. It is my tradition to build each daughter (with her help) a Porsche and then to give it to her on her 16th birthday.
My oldest and I built a custom 914-6 and now it's my youngest girl's turn and I picked a 944
Please post your pictures of custom and cool interior work.
carpets, seats, steering wheels, dashes, shifters, middle consoles and gauges.
IMPORTANT
Also add if you can where you bought these cool features and any details you can share.
This is going to be a fun thread and one I will get a lot of great ideas from
Thanks in advance

i wish you were my dad. lol
i dont have any pics, but i love the "racey" look. raceing seats, roll bar, harness. mabey a momo steering wheel and shift ****.
EDIT: ^ add a-pillar guages to that. and if you want "customized" you can take plastic dash, console parts and sand them down to where theyre smooth (or atleast close), then prime and paint them. i like silver, looks good against a black interior.

Check this place out:
Jager Engineering They will have dash trim kits, shifters, and much more.
The best upgrade for interior on these cars is the steering wheel. Look at the 911S/968 Clubsport Steering Wheel. Sunset Porsche in Oregon usually has one available.
Gauges for an early 944 are pretty much unavailable. There used to be some white face ones on eBay, but I have heard of them available in years. One option however is to change to the black and white faces from a 924.
Post some pics of that car if you get a moment as well.

Forget about crappy plastic sticker dash kits.
get the whole interior done in ALACANTRA! Dash, pillars, headliner, seats, Door panels, 1/4 panels.... everything. That would probably cost about 3k with installation. Maybe a little less if you get just leather instead of alacantra.
get some nice (not ricey) under dash lighting, as well as some brighter gauge lights.
Also a custom rear seat delete.

Yeah go for something slightly out of the ordinary but tasteful. I like the idea of a full leather interior so do it in a color thats unavailable normally?

Was just gonna mention that.
+1 for 928 Leathershop.
Alcantara is kinda a suede type material. Used originally in race car setups, not being offered as a option on most higher end cars. I do believe 928 Leathershop offers it as an option.
