Question Saratoga top rear latches

Hi all,

A member over at 924.org suggested I post this here... so here goes..

I recently purchased a manual Saratoga top for my 924 and have a question about the rear latches. When they are engaged they don't hold the top down correctly - there is a gap between the latch and the roof. The front latches are perfect.

Does anyone have any pics of what the rear latches look like - I'm wondering if there's a bit missing from mine? Maybe a filler piece that goes on the end of the latch? Also are there any scans of instructions manuals etc for the Saratogas for interests sake?

Currently have some foam filling the gap, which works, but it's not ideal.

Love the 'toga!

Cheers,

Can you take some pictures of the gap?

Duh, that might help...

This shows the latch fully engaged (ie the lever is up towards the top. There is a gap of about 5mm...

I'd just bend the latch a little bit..

Yeah, I could do that I guess... but it almost seems like there was originally a rubber/plastic cap of some description over the end? I'd be afraid of the (almost irreplaceable) latch breaking if it was bent.

Given the cost and the fact I hand-carried this back from the US to Sydney I'm treating it as if it were made of gold-plated, diamond-encrusted rocking horse poo...

Find a rubber thingy, I was thinking a thing-a-majig.

Sorry had to have a little fun with that.

Yeah, it looks like you just need a little more material on there- check at a DIY store for maybe some clear plastic hose/tubing of a good diameter and thickness and slide it over the end.
