The 928 could not defeat a legend at the price tag it was offered. Everyone at Porsche new that but Ernst Fuhrmann. Nevertheless, the 928 soldiered on in shadows for 18 years. BTW, the 944 didn't do too well in the model line-up either if it was dropped. In the beginning yes, but things change for a car company suffering during a 1980's recession.
Randy, I am considering selling it, but have not yet thought of a price. I have been shopping for 1981-1984 928s to see what they are going for so I can see what I can offer my car for. Rest assured I'm not going to be asking some ludicrous price, but rather something very affordable and a steal of a deal since this car has no collateral against it.

Jeez. Some of you guys receive way too much brainwashing from envious 951 owners that like to start trouble with 928 owners in off topic.
BTW, I have nothing against a 2.5L turobcharged Porsche that normally prefers Ferraris, but snacks on Corvettes

The 944's had a good run, got some respect, did some good and some nice cars came out of the line-up, Im happy with that.

Let's not forget the 944 actually was responsible for pioneering new technological ideas Porsche would later apply to it's 911s.

Andy,
If you're really here looking for a ball park figure or for considered opinions, you might want to rephrase that title, especially in this forum.
I have no doubt that you're being serious about your intentions, but as others have said, you come into their living room and say you want to 'upgrade' to something else, and it might come off a bit snobbish.
I personally like all water-cooled Porsches, I'm just sayin'...

After having 2 daily driven 944s, I feel that a daily driver 928 is an upgrade for me. That's all. Coming off snobbish is the last thinig I want to do since I hate those that are snobbish towards me. But seeing that people are taking my thread title so controversial, I went ahead and changed it.
I don't understand what the heck people's problems are on here just because I want to sell my car for something else. I don't hear people on here bitch about those selling 944s for a WRX or something else, but as soon as I mention the number 9-2-8, it's like I used God's name in vane on this forum. Jeez! Calm down people. These are just cars!
Like I said before, it's a GREAT CAR! I spent hours upon hours of blood sweat and tears fixing things that broke on it and learning how to work on it. This car was also a family bonding experience too!
Enough of the hijacks already!
