Wow, I think you are one of the first people actually looking and not trying to get rid of theirs.

I have one without the 'Porsche' lettering. Am undeceded on whether it looks good or not. It would look good without if there was a euro style # plate there instead of the US style plate. It's just that Porsche did not do anything to improve the appearance of that area for the US market until the 968 came along.

So still undecided, but definately not with the 'Porsche' or any lettering and remove the stupid backlighting. I think Performance Products sell them.

Default Ebay if you want to do it.

I had one on my 86 that broke and found another one on ebay cheap but I would not add it if the car did not come with it. I think they look better without that item.

Not only do they give your car the early-70's chrysler look, but by moving the licence plate down they make the butt of the car look bigger.

They're an aesthetic crime.

-1 on the tacky panel. ruins the rear end completely.
interesting i'm not alone, but always saw that element as a design mistake.

porsche's should have a certain restrain, and the way they do the gigantic black type over the huge plasticy red panel is just gaudy

Somehow I don't think Porsche actually made that piece. It was made by a third party and sold as an add-on.

By the way, did I say that light panel was ugmo? It is. I looked up "ugmo" in wikipedia and there was a picture of it. Honest.

I hate the looks esp. with the plate moved to the bumper, but its nice to know there arn't any other 944's in my area with it.

Yea,
If you like that sort of thing. Not my cup of tea though. I do see those on ebay all the time.

Personally, I like the 944 cars because people don't really know what kind of car it is (only that they like it!). I de-badged mine. Only thing that gives it away is the brembo brakes with the Porsche script on them.

Also, with the billboard on the back non believers always say "that ain't a realy Porsche". Or, "thats a poor mans Porsche".

Don't get me wrong, I am not ashamed to own a Porsche....I just like to keep them guessing.
