You did a good job of reacting. I'm sure it would have been worse on a downshift, but when you're expecting your clutch to grab and it doesn't, you've got a *split* second to react before overrevving.
Good catch, bad luck. Nice post.

Nope... I was humming along in 2nd with the car right near redline as usual for that spot on the track. I wend to shift to 3rd and it felt like it went into gear, but I had no drive and revs spiked a bit. My first though was that I flubbed the shift and the car was in neutral, but as I went and tried again I got nothing. Firgured maybe I lost 3rd so I tried 4th and then 2nd and finally first as coasted the car off track. Once I realized I had not drive I tough I may have busted the R&P, but it did seem odd that the car still rolled. Consider maybe a 1/2 shaft let go (bolts backing out) and with a open diff the car wound not move.
I only realized it was probably the clutch when pulling the tranny I realized I could turn the torque tube by hand to remove the connector without pushing in the clutch.

Our 944 spec cars don't put out that much HP. Around 135 to the rear wheels. A stock clutch disc keeps costs down and will last for a good long time if you don't do standing starts and drag races.
