Sounds like a plan - there's got to be a good brew pub somewhere in Dayton / Cincy area. Should get hockeydude to drive on down too.

I'm no stranger to your situation- in my 85.5 a Ford F150 put his p/u in reverse and managed to get his rear bumper up on to my hood, which of course also damaged the nose panel, headlight covers & bumper. While I was waiting to get the $$ from the guys insurance, I was t-boned in my driver's side door in a parking lot. It was at low speed, but the driver was an elderly German gentleman... in an F150 with a huge chrome bumper (oh, the irony).

And most recently, a pizza delivery guy (see sig) made an ill-advised left turn and ruined not only the fender on my 88, but also steering and suspension and front left tire. At least I get my tires at Costco, so my 235/40/18s (IIRC) aren't too bad- but now I'll have to buy 2 tires.

Wish I could swing the $$ for the engine as mine has about 3x the mileage. At least my incidents have been with someone else at fault, so I was always able to get reimbursed for repairs. Unfortunately, I think the tree was there first.

Good luck with everything.

No more discussion about my woes (don't want to hijack this poor guys thread), I have had some time for the most recent event to sink in... but one of my good friends was telling my wife the other day that he has never seen someone with such bad luck. Some say you make your own luck, but at some point it gets a little ridiculous.

In Nelson's case, he had listed his car for sale and therefore had only liability insurance, probably thinking it would be fairly improbable for something like this would happen.

I don't know how long he had that car, but that is just some bad luck.

although that sounds appealing, i was trying to sell this car because i wanted to purchase a turbo, so i think that i will just take the losses assosciated with parting this car, then buy the car that i really wanted.

LOL @ poker winnings. I can't wait until next year's fest so i can win everyones money again in the drunken poker match!

Hey JBerk ! Rich here from Belleville. It's been a long while I haven't floated on rennlist. I just picked up a new 951 toy to park next to the sti, year and a half out of the S2 (which Vic still has)...the withdrawal symptoms worsened, driving other people's cars didn't help either!!
Hockey dude, sorry for the brief hijack and the damage to your car, on the bright side you didn't drive off a clif ! Keep the engine and swap it into another shell, there are free ones that come up from time to time, you just have to keep looking.
Hello to everyone else!
Rich

Hi Rich!

Should be selling my MDX in the next two weeks and will have some $ to begin throwing into the trans and the car in general! (I have 4 cars right now and 'shell out fallter' ). Was going to call you anyway to get my car in for a checkup (been running great) so I can do some DE in the spring....got the 'itch' as one the guys here has said. Buy the 951 local? How's the restaurant?? Shoot me a PM with the address and I'll bring a few guys from my airport office for lunch...we're always looking for good lunch places.

best!

Joe

Sorry to hear about the wipe out.

Please PM me when you start parting it out, I could really use some small parts.

I'm in Columbus.
Thanks,
Tom
