Easy off will take your paint off. Listen to people who have first hand experience. Carb cleaner and wax immediately after taking all of it off. It takes me about 2 minutes to get everything off.

Lacquer thinner won't hurt well cured urethane but I'd try it on some out of the way place first.
The shop I used to work at used lac thinner to remove pinstripe adhesive residue all the time never any trouble.

Agreed, thinner will work as well. I suggested the acetone since that is a primary ingredient in lacquer thinner and evaporates quicker so less chance of him making a mistake. Btw, for the others that posted, a claybar will work but it will require a lot more time and effort. Why work hard when you can work smart? Claybar is intended to remove overspray, not full on painted areas.

Brake cleaner isn't a good solvent for paint. Lacquer thinner or acetone...or you can always try the easy off as several others recommended. Body shop will be $$, trust me on that one.

I could think of 100 other reasons not to paint a car with a rattle can.
Who would do such a thing?
