With the cannons in the middle of them, maybe laser target tracking system stealth mounted in the hood emblem.

If I was driving around and things pop out of the sides of the car behind me, with big gas powered lasers shining out, I would def give him a thumbs up.

But then there would be no room for teh astromech droid and teh proton torpedo launchers! There would, however, be plenty of room for a V-Card.

I like the car you've got there, but why bother with rear quarter windows at all? Make the door windows a little more sleek/slanted, and then have a nice beefy C pillar. Sure, visibility would be low, but does it really matter? I'm thinking about taking this to Solidworks and having a go at it...but I really don't have much time right now...

I would def get the M030, LSD and proton torpedo launcher package. :-) The R2 unit would be a nice addition to the basic cruise control.

My $0.02:

Don't go with a thick c pillar. I spend a good amount of time looking behind me (whether trying to stay out of peoples' way or avoiding the chp) and to lose the wrap-around visibility would suck, especially right in the blind spot. I know that is a complaint with the 350z crowd (or 300zx for that matter).

Go with the cgt lights. Aside from really dating the car, the added weight of the mechanism and motor would take a little chunk out of what will be a heavier car than our 944s. Modern protection and creature comforts are extremely heavy.

Not bad!

If I can offer some constructive crits regarding your rendering I'd work on your surface development more. The greenhouse should have a graceful radius for the tumblehome . Right now it looks like the rear hatch had sharp edges that were just barely radiused.

I'd also recommend toning down the environment reflections like the building. Check out www.cardesignnews. for alot of great tips and tutorials to improve your design technique if that's something you like to do.

Good job, keep it up!

Rear glass is too big on that one... And I liked the pointed rear of the quarter windows.

I think you should make the rear have a pop up spoiler (instead of a fixed wing) and take hatch and rear window queues from the rear hatch/windows of the 997 Targa.

Otherwise, it's looking sweet!

cool site.

I appreciate the critique. The tumblehome is an evolution from earlier designs where I had too much tumblehome. It is a work in progress. There's also too much 'bubble' in the hatch and that needs to be straightened out. In addition, I haven't included a front view yet as currently it sucks. Been working too much on it as is and starting to get bored. Might have to shelve it for a while.

These renderings are drafts. I'm not all that interested in final output at the moment. I've been working in these environments for almost 20 years, so I'm pretty comfortable with the scene setup. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks too for the site link, tho you missed some of it. Here's the correct link:

First off, this car is a really cool idea.My big question isthis. Could you make the hood slope neugh with out sticking the engine through the hood? I guess a few people are doing engine swaps so how about some type of boxer motor and some fiberglass 997 bits for the front? Not sure about the rear yet.

I'm all about updating the look of the 44, but I think without a fixed 968/late S2 type spoiler, you'd be missing one of the main design cues. I mean, they already make the Cayman, so go get one of those if the wing bothers you that much. The spoiler has been a mainstay of front engined pcars since the early 80s. I know, I know, early 928 and 924- but would you take the non spoiler version over the spoiler version on either of those cars? Wait- don't answer...

I was thinking that a retractable spoiler would then open the way for a fixed wing "GT" or "RS" model.
