Concept 944

Also, might I suggest in lieu of the standard 44 spoiler, which I doubt would be on a production car of today's age, you try for a late 44/968 style spoiler instead? With the GT2, GT3, and new 997s, etc, I'm sure there's variations on the theme somewhere that could tastefully blend elements of a 968 and 997 Aero Kit spoiler to produce something effective and tasteful for the car. Still looks good, don't get me wrong!

I'm a fan of the bubble hatch, too...
but I actually like the quarter windows in the current 944
If I were Porsche and bringing back a modern 944, about the only thing I'd change is the headlights (and dash/doors/center console). They'd still be popups, but smaller and start after the first bend on the nose

Unfortunately, the odds of them making pop-up headlights again are only slightly worse than the odds of them remaking a 944 in the first place :-(
Though, as much as some of you will hate to hear it, I think if they did bring pop up headlights (read: sexy) back, it would make sense to if they were a smaller modified version of the (dare I say it!) RX-7's design that literally pop up (as opposed to flipping, in the 944's case). It could honestly go either way in the design and both would still look alright.

You just listed my whole mod wish list!!!!!!!! The laser cannons will be great for left lane hog's.
If porsche is going to build another 944, it better have %$#@&$ laser cannons and r2d2 as the EMS.

Keep in mind, the last iteration of the 944 -- the 968 -- didn't use the hidden pop-up lights, opting for a 928 esque headlight design that was visible but still rose to position when needed. I'd say if the lights were to be pop-up, they would more closely resemble that than the 944's lights.
