You can use the rear eccentric bolt to lower the rear about an inch also to even the car out. Sorry, I don't have any pics on this computer of a lowered 944.

200lb front springs - paragon ride height coilover kit- and lowered rear accentrics

400lb coilover kit w/ rear coilovers and indexed torsions-

both are lowered at least 2" - n/a had excellent balance and handling- turbo is just more of everything.

THe springs were only used for about 500 miles, they fit the stock struts as a stock alternative.

what would be a proper way to do this? I see they have all kinds of links and bars, what would be considered an upgrade for an '83?

like a proper suspension upgrade, lowered, with complementing sway bars?

I have 220 lb springs on mine (though Performance Products said it keeps the car's ride height stock, it actually lowered it about half of an inch in the front) and used 225/50/15 tires that gave the car a really nice stance. It wasn't lowered to the point where I'd be dragging my airdam over speed bumps. I think I may go back to that same tire size again because the car definitely cornered better with lower profile tires.

I'm not sure if many of you guys scrape or not with lowered springs....

I've only scraped my front end once. And that was in a housing development where they put drainage channels in front of uphill driveways. It was like a 4 inch difference in height and I barely scraped it.

I've never had a problem with a speed bump.

Daily drive by car, also has the Foha front lip which effectively lowers the front lip another inch or so. I make frequent trips into Manhattan and have done the Jackie Robinson expressway and Brooklyn Queens Expressway atleast once a month. If you know the roads, you know the pavement is amazingly uneven and enough to swallow a small Kia. The only place i have trouble is the FedEx depot by me. The apron is very steep and no matter what angle i take it at the front always rubs...i goto UPS now . I used to have major problems getting my car onto ramps..i raised the front end about 1/8th of an inch and just barely clear now..



Speed bumps are no problem. The 968 brake cooling scoops hanging off the control arms rub and scrape all the time. Thats to be expected when they are 1 inch off the ground though!
