Why do S2000's keep racing me? (or what should I replace my 951 with?)

A. It really is not a good looking car. Its very slight in it proportions and looks like a girls car.
B. The exhaust note is kind of comical if you ask me, and 157ftlb of torque? LOL
C. With the top up its again, comical
D. I do respect it though as a machine but would never want to own one.
E. The interior is a joke, my S2 interior now with complete leather kills it not only in looks but room.
But again, its a nice it of engineering but still not a car I would like to own.

Quote A ----- Not that good looking???? Looks like a girls car???? Have you looked at your Crossfire? It looks like a rollerskate.
Dude I really think you need to go out and drive one. I would hope after the test drive you would sell your terdfire and buy an
s2000.
But then again everyone has there own likes and dislikes. Have a great day.

LOL, Crossfire is 10000000 times better looking than the S2000 IMO of course. Not to mention I have the Startech package which consists of exhaust, suspension, front and rear aero, badges and misc interior goodies. I'll post some pics and you tell me if my car looks like a skate.
S20000 looks like a 944 Cab that had its ***** cut off. Ugly
Like I said in my post I respect it as a machine though, but you conveniently skipped over that part.

naw F22 head is still the old VTEC system. the new iVTEC head with cam phasing is only on the K series. RSX's, new Civic Si's, TSX's and ...i think CRV's also share same system

A good friend of mine has an s2000 w/ supercharger, lowered, 18s. Looks about 87% more masculine than stock. I always think the stock ones are miatas, but his looks really good.

It's different than a Mercedes. An upscale version of a Mercedes (not the run of the mill taxi-cab ones, like the 320s that they use in greater Europe), but like a 430, 550, whatever... they are very refined, very quiet, but the ride is still a bit stiff. Most Europeans of course prefer a stiff ride, which is why BMWs and Mercedes are all like that.
What the Crown Vic (or Grand Marquis, or Lincoln Town Car) all have is a "floaty" type of road-feel to it. Granted, the Police cars have a stiffer suspension (springs and shocks), but the luxury version of the car is very floaty. It's not something you'd ENJOY driving through a mountain road with as you'll probably get "sea sick". But for a long road-trip... it's pretty nice. It's certainly no Lincoln, Cadillac, or anything above, but it does have two MASSIVE bench seats, it's extremely quiet, and just coasts. Stock the LX Sport will achieve low 15s in the quarter, and with some modifications, you can easily break into the 14s. After all, it is nothing more than a 2002 Mustang with an extra 1,000 pounds. It is funny though, I have to slow WAAAY down when I want to make a turn.
It's tough going from car to car... as all of my cars (while no single one is anything really special) all have different characteristics. When I drive the Volkswagen Bus, it's slow as crap. Old people with walkers usually beat me to 10mph. I think... if I DID run it in the quarter mile, it'd probably run something like a 32 second quarter mile... maybe worse... because it would probably hit it's top speed (around 70mph) before it even finished the quarter.
The Crown Vic has plenty of low-end torque, but it has a really sluggish torque converter so the old people who drive them don't fall out of their seat when they floor it.
If I drive the Solstice after driving the Vic... it feels SLOW around town, unless I'm gunning it and it's quicker in the upper rpms.
Maybe I just need to get a Bugatti Veyron with a trailer hitch, and then I can have the best of everything.

I don't mean to upset anyone here... but Honda just doesn't do it for me. Since I was born in 1978, my experiences with Honda have all been those of fuel economy and middle aged women. It started with my aunt occasionally driving me back and forth to grandma's house in her little 2 door 1982 Honda Prelude, with the little horn buttons on the side. Then, when I was in high school, a bunch of parents were buying their kids slightly used Honda Civics and Accords... they were all FWD 4 cyl cars, with little skinny tires. They would upgrade them, and they'd make tons of obnoxious noise... but they would lose races to old people in Oldsmobile Cutlass Cieras coming back from Church.
Part of what makes a car, is it's heritage. Many of you on here may not appreciate American cars, and that's fine. But there's one thing to be said for Pontiacs. They have a long history of Performance cars dating back to the 50s. Pretty much every car they've produced, whether it's been a success or not, has that "performance flair" to it. They do what they can to make the car exciting.
I just don't see that from Honda, and I don't see that from Toyota. Nissan on the other hand, DOES have a long history of performance vehicles dating back from day 1. Sure Honda has the Honda 500 roadster, but Datsun continued to build performance cars from their very first Datsun roadster. The "Z" cars inspire excitement.
When I see a Honda S2000, the images that flash through my head are bald middle aged men, Viagra, Tab, miles per gallon, and 1993 Honda Civics.
On the other hand, when I think about Porsche 944s... I think investment bankers, cocktails, hot blond chicks with 80s frizzy hair, and club racing.
While the later might be a bit cheesy, it speaks of the time, and Porsche has a long history and heritage. As far as I'm concerned, when I step into a Honda, I could be stepping into a Kia. When I step into a Porsche... you're immediately filled with emotion. Whether it's a 1996 Porsche Carrera 4S, or a 1979 NA 924 with rusty fenders in the junkyard.

In my honest opinion, I'd definitely buy a Cross-Fire before I bought an S2000.

Meanwhile not so long ago Porsche was developing an SUV and out of any type of factory sponsored racing.
How can you really think that your experiences from 1978 have anything to do with the modern H co? I don't particularly care for them, I'd alway take a 944 over just about any honda (maybe a late model nsx...), but step into the 21st century.
EDIT:: and I was born in 1980, so our range of experience is pretty similar.

Have you watched any racing over the last 20 years? Honda has been in just about every form of motorsport from F1 (where they were actually pretty good a few years ago) to indycar to speed world challenge to motoGP to supercross.

Yes, and I NEVER mis a Formula-1 race. Ask Rubens Barricello how he feels about Honda. I believe his best quote this year was... "I am amazed how it was possible for Honda to build such a bad car... I mean a really bad car..."
I can't recall a single race in Formula-1 where at least 1 Honda of the 4 didn't blow it's motor. They're SO bad that the factory team couldn't even get sponsorship this year.
And it's not saying much that ALL of the Indy cars are Honda engines... I mean, it all just depends on who paid the most money to secure that deal. Notice how there are no OTHER motors in Indycar racing now. I remember, maybe even just last year there were a couple of Chevrolet motors, and I think maybe it was just last year that they competed with the Infinity motors (or maybe I'm thinking of two years ago).
My being born in 1978 means that I basically "lived" the Honda craze... the ONLY reason why they're successful with the tuner crowd right now is because parents bought their kids Hondas in high school and when going to college. Like with any kid, regardless of what you've got.. you want to fix up your car and make it faster.
Don't get me wrong, they are very reliable cars... but I certainly don't get a rush of passion when I sit in one. Do I wish Honda would drop off the face of the Earth? No, but I do get tired of the Honda crowd constantly fighting for respect. They're on their way, but they can't expect to go from humble roots, to top of the world in 10 years. I mean, just 13-14 years ago, they didn't even really have a performance vehicle unless you consider the CRX.
