Twin Turbo 944?
I havent had my 944 n/a for much more than a year now and to say the least she is, i think shes a girl, problematic. but i love her and want to keep her forever. but i have to fix her up.
but i got to thinking and i know that this may come off to some as ridiculous and impractical but i want to know what everyone thinks.
They twin turboed an inline 6 on a toyota supra, couldnt you do it to a porsche?
I dont know cars that well so thats why im asking. But i was researching the setup of a supras turbo layout, sequential and all, and if this application could be implemented on a 944 the results would be impressive to say the least. if it were possible. So i am hoping there are some geniuses out there that can provide their expertise on the matter.
And no i wouldnt be doing this to my car...at least not any time soon...

search is your friend on this controversial topic. Its not worth it to dump that much money into a n/a 944 and would be cheaper to buy a 944 turbo. A home-made 944 would be a time bomb.
As it says in the 86 944 turbo brochure I read today...
"The Porsche engineers at Weissach Germany love a challenge. That's why they thoroughly enjoyed developing the new Porsche 944 turbo."

Yes keep in mind the car above was designed by the tuner 9ff. Callaway made a turbo 944 in the 80s that seemed to be some what reliable as a street car. In fact there are a few listers that have them.

I agree about dumping that much into a 944 n/a
but it undoubtedly would be a fun project to modify a 951
or even a 968. and hypothetically speaking, with a 3.0 L engine, it would give the children nightmares.

yeah no ****. It definately won't be cheap. Unless you're really into spending millions of hours working on your car then a 951 will safe you time and money and you can still work on it by modding it to make more power.

Twin turbo a 968 to the moon!, that is my real dream
after purchasing a 944 i fell in love with the model and i wouldnt give it up, consider it stubborn but hey what can i say they make a good car. and thats to speak of the 944/951/968
all of them are beautiful and i love speed so to have a ridiculous fast car in any of the above flavors would be, could be, is my dream.
the only thing left is to become rich so i could indefinitely experiment

each turbo in the Supra is run off 3 exhausts. In a 4 cylinder, each turbo would run off 2 exhausts. In my opinion, its kinda worthless. Just put a big turbo in it and save the hassle of twin turboing it.

uuuuugh - you don't twin turbo a 4 cylinder.
2 exhaust pulses 180 degrees apart - yeah, that'd be great.
I have enough problem deriving enough exhaust energy (with RADICAL cam timing, AFR, ignition timing, etc.) out of 4 cylinders.
