Default Porsche 944 Bomb - armed

I just thought I'd share my frustration.

While under the car after fixing just about a billion things this weekend I smelled some nice fresh gasoline. After sniffing the leak down like a dog I discovered that the external oil cooler on the 951 transmission I put in a few months ago has punctured (and what looks like melted) part of the fuel filter canister, and the fuel runs down the oil cooler nicely. So its safe to say that my car is now an armed bomb, although things probably aren't hot enough to ignite back there

I'd get that fixed asap. you don't want your car bursting in flames.

yeah, all the fittings are tight, no leaks....the cooler actually shaved down and punctured the top bottom edge of the fuel filter, which is where it is leaking from

there should be a hose clamp around the fuel filter holding it to a braket- so it doesnt rub anything...sounds like that is gone.

xsboost, that clamp is still there, and the filter is in the correct location, i will try and post pics. The reason the cooler hit the filter is that whoever had the cooler before, bent it in some wierd way they deided was better than the professionaly designed factory design. So when you see the pics you'll notice that the way the oil cooler is bent and coiled is different that the normal ones you have probably seen. Ive just bent it away from the filter so now i just have to pop a new filter in even though i just put that filter in 2 months ago
