Default Wheel price quote

Just quoted for A set of new 7.5x17" and 9x17" aftermarket C2 Turbo replica wheels is $960.00, plus shipping from wheelenhancement. Can get $100 for my phone dial wheels from them taking it to $860. 87 944 S, do I need any spacers etc? Is this a good price? Any other suggestions? Tire Rack is a $100 cheaper, after market "Sport Edition" brand. I really like the look of them on pixelgrinders car.

Thanks

If the Wheel Enhancement ones are the usual replicas, they will be the same as the ones from Tire Rack. The Replica's have "Made in Italy" on them. Thus, buy at the lower price.
Personally, I would highly recommend shopping around for a set of used Porsche Genuine Wheels, or a quality aftermarket if you plan to spend that much money.
The Replica's are ok, but are prone to cracking, and are fairly heavy.

Also, $100 is too cheap for Phone Dials, unless they need to be refinished. While they don't go for much, the VW guys seem to really like them, and are willing to spend a few hundred on a set, as are a few 944 people.

Where might I look for genuine porsche used ones other then ebay, craigslist, rennlist etc? The tires I have right now are pretty new so I wont bother changing the wheels until I need to change the tires to.

Find a used set of 17in Cup2 OEM Porsche if you really want 17s or a set of OEM Porsche forged Clubsport S wheels if you want 16s - there's a set for $650 in the Rennlist classifieds now. You can always refinish the wheels yourself if needed.

205s are typical tire catalog size that comes up - the same size tire originally came on my 993 (where i got my Cup2s) but I agree with Jake - go to 225 on the fronts - I have 225s on my 17 Cup2s. If you're patient you can find used OEM Porsche Cup2s for $1000 or less

Is it worth getting the aftermarket wheels and tires done by town fair tire, then selling the Phone Dials with Falken tires with good tread? Should get at least $500 right? Cuts out the significant shipping cost (but does add tax) and also gets them with the following:

Your best buy is gonna be from Craigslist, or Rennlist. I've seen some great deals here for wheels. I lucked out and got a great deal from a co-worker.

15" Phone Dials are more like 200-400 depending on region, and buyers.

If I was to get new, I would get a set of Tires, and Wheels from Tirerack. I do believe you can have them mount and balance them, and ship to your house.
