My rims??
When I bought my car it had Fuchs on it, and I read a little while back they might be 911 rims put on by a PO.
I heard the 911 rims are 16x6 and 16x7, and the 944 rims are 16x7 and 16x8.
I took off the rear wheels recently and scrubbed off some dust and saw [8] Jx16.
I didn't see any part number on them that followed the format I'm used to seeing.
Does this mean anything? Are my rim's 7 and 8 inches? Could my failure to find a part number mean they are replica's or some bullsh*t like that?
Thanks for any info

you should be able to find a part number... somewhere. The only replica fuch I have ever laid hands and eyes on had its country of origin cast into the back, and it was not Germany. There are other signs of authenticity, I believe one is a small triangle with a "P" inscribed in it.
Maybe some more scrubbing is in order? 7's and 8's could definitely be 911 wheels, and would be worth some decent change. I'm not sure if there were 944 fuchs with those rim widths, but I would guess the answer is yes...

Yes, 16X7 and 16X8 fuchs were an option on the '86 turbo. I'm no expert, but I believe they're quite valuable nowadays. I think the 911 guys use them alot. They should have a part number that looks something like 951.XXX.XXX.XX. I'm sure someone can give you the exact number.

Calmchaos, take a photo of your wheels and I can tell you if they are replicas, 911 Fuchs, or 951 Fuchs.

You're 100% right brian,... ask me how I know . The 951 8" fuch will clear bigger brakes on the front of a 911.
Rick, 911 fuchs were available in 6, 7, 8, & 9" widths, not just 6's and 7's.
