And another mail delivery.. T4 cast stainless twin scroll flange. Will need to be cut to accept smaller diameter pipes.

Sold the 500lb huge tig welder and bought new IGBT 200A Tig AC/DC pulse welder + new Metabo 355mm chop saw.

In pursue of home made exhaust header and complete exhaust.

I learned that Akrapović makes all stainless exhausts from 347 grade stainless, so I will use this material also. I only need few miles of practice welds before I start the actual exhaust.

Hmm...i should visit you soon
Seriously now, that country of yours is gorgeous and if you can weld me some better intercooler pipes while we have some beers it would be all the better.
Are you coming to 92Forty in May?

You are welcome any time just let me know in advance. We will construct something, no doubt about it.

I didn't decided yet, I would definitely love to go but don't want to drive to UK. You are going with 924? I was thinking something more like EasyJet or something.. Do you know anything more about the event itself, the info on the net is not that great..

Yea i'm not going there without at least one 924
The event is going to be really really awesome. Silverstone....Porsche driving coaching, greatest OEM cars will be there(including a GTR), greatest modded 924s as well , Dyno power runs the second day. As far as i know guys from USA and Canada will fly over, and theoretically loads of Euro guys will drive their 24s there. I will meet with the guy from werk924.com in Germany and drive together with him from there. He is also driving a 924. I hope more guys with 924s from Poland and Germany will join us on the way.

As i can see there will be over 100 924s there...there will be ratty 924s, modded ones, mint unrestored ones, restored ones, and as far as i know they are working hard to bring that UK GTR as well as its being restored at the moment.

Can you PM me your city/address? i think i can make it to your place in under 8h if i'm not mistaken...that would be quite an easy drive.

Ive been to factory that produces top quality felt insulation, some of their customers are Mercedes, Audi, BMW etc.

Bought 6 square meters of lightweight black/gray class1 insulation, will remove all factory undercarpet nasty stuff and replace it with this.

I'm mildly familiar with 347 what is the price difference between it and 321? Their properties would be basically the same for your project. Congrats on your welder purchase, man you can adjust everything. While welding if you leave a root gap for filler you can run masking tape around the joint and peel back as you weld to help maintain a good purge. Best of luck!

Its expensive and rare, Akrapovic has its own foundry for it but there is no way to buy any of it raw. I'll probably get 321 or 316 if there is nothing else available for normal price. 347 is supposed to be excellent for welding and develops nice color which is important for motorcycle exhausts, other than that I don't think its any better than lower rated ss.

I have managed to burn the welder while learning to weld on some thick aluminum @200A, so it is now in service for more than a month. China rocks.

I got these nice hats yesterday and now need big red (aka 928GTS) calipers, so if anybody have a set laying around, let me know. I have stock turboS calipers, but they wont work with 320mm 993TT rotors if I understood correctly.

I've got a brand new set (over 5 years old) but never been mounted, Big Black Calipers, factory holed rotors and the adapter kit that makes them fit non Turbo S spindles. All brand new from Porsche dealer except the adapters (Racers Edge or Lindsey). $850 complete.
