Default Boxster Wheels on front of 944. No fit w/ bearing caps?

Anyone else have boxster wheels on their 944? I just put them on at lunch and the fronts won't seat with the bearing dust caps on. I left the cap off for now to put them on.. but has anyone else had this problem? How did you get around it?

oh, it's these wheels...

You like my turbo bumper???

I know most people put them on the front of the car, but then I can't see it.

Yep, that is a problem with the newer boxter and 996 wheels. You can run thin spacers on the front to avoid interference between the wheel and bearing cap.

Can you take a dremmel and grind the back of the cap a little or is it too thin to do that?

7 mm spacers are what is normally required if you use the OEM concave centers.

hmm.. not sure if I want to add a 1/4 in.
Maybe I'll use/make something flat.

thanks guys. Wanted to make sure I don't have some odd ball.

I used spacers on the front of my 944S with Boxster rims and had no issues.

yeah ive had to run 7mm front spacers before- they actually dont stick out like you would think since the offset is slightly more in the front to begin with.
