Default Macau update

Hi guys. This was originally posted in OT.
I'mmmm back!
Been in Macau for two weeks. It's really fantastic. Great work crew. Great company. Nice people.
Already have aan apartment. Sharing with a workmate. 3 bdrms. $AUD134/week each. Peanuts.
Lots of new cars here. Haven't seen many p-cars, a few Cayennes and a couple of C4S's. All shiny and new.
Have a local mobile phone (first purchase).
Think Vegas. Scrunch all the casinos on the strip together into 5 square miles, add 500000 chinese in the same area, stick in 70-90% humidity. Voila! Macau.
The money that changes hands here gambling is insane.
Fun so far tho. Will see what it is like in 3 months when we open.
If you are visiting HK or Macau, PM me and we'll catch up. That means you Kevin and Geoff!
Pics later after I get myself a computer. I'm using the work one now.

Good to hear things are going well over there, and thanks for the invite. If the US had an air base close by I'd see ya' in two weeks.

The local SD guys went out for a quick pint the other night and of course your famous visit to The Plank here in IB got some good laughs.

OT, during another walkabout to Tahoe I blew both end seals on the PS rack so the rack is out for a rebuild, I really hope the drips of coolant near the oil filter is a leak from the heater tube that runs alongside the head.

Give 'em hell Bud!

You'd love it here. Casinos, women and cheap beer! Who could ask for more?

A couple of cool stories.

Stepping onto the train platform in Shenzen, and looking across a sea of heads, wow!

One Sunday I got stuck in Kowloon during a rain storm, I figured I'd "tuff" it out and walk to the Star Ferry landing and then back to the room. Every pedestrian walkway (and there are PLENTY in Hong Kong), underpass, rail platform, etc. was PACKED with women of all ages on blankets enjoying their Sunday outing, chating and laughing the afternoon away.

I walked for a good hour and a half, and I was countinually amazed!

This ws the "western" HK.

John
Have a job with MGM. We open in December. Surveillance.
I'll PM my mobile #. If ure coming over give me a buzz and we'll have a few beers.
The place has certainly changed. Lots of money. Buildings going up everywhere.
My apartment is definately not upscale but in the carpark are an Audi Quattro, MB SL320, another merc sedan, a Hummer (how the hell do you drive a hummer around macau?) and a Jeep cherokee. All current models or look like it.

Saw my first accident since arriving. A nose to tail with a cab. How come there arent more prangs here? Traffic is insane.
Nice black C4S parked on the street on the way to work this am.
Macau business sign(in Portugese):
Penus Accessories Automotive
I hesitate to ask what it is they sell!

First pics guys.
The crappy 3 star hotel MGM put me up in for two weeks

With a see through bathroom

And a **** view of the city

Wynn and MGM Grand Macau. We dont open till december sometime

My new digs

With half decent security

For some reason Chinese like to put toys on their dash

Our tempory office is very near the border with chine. The traffic was light when I took these

The staff smoking area and corner shop

My residential street

The main tower of the Grand Lisboa Casino

I'll put all pics online somewhere as I take more. This is ricers heaven. 3ft tall spoilers on cars that are never going to go faster than 60kph! Lots of Ralliart crap. Heaps of 'I can go faster' decals on the sides of cars.

More later

We installed a ton of software in Venetian Macau which opened the end of August, unfortunately for me it was all travel by vpn connection. It was the 3rd largest building in the world at opening, MGM going nuts too?

Great pics of Macau Brian, still dingy just like how I remembered it from 4 years ago. See you in about a month.
