Default Who else runs 245/45ZR16 all around?

I have 16x8" PDs all around and would like a little more tire for the track. The 245/45-16 is available, so is the 225/50-16s I have now. The 225s are close to the edge- I see having to roll the fenders a little more.

Anyone else have the 245s? I think Z-Man is on his track car.

I have 225's on front and 245's on rear, I have 16" phones but they are different widths.

i run 245/45/16 all around on my car currently. I like it because i can rotate them front to rear- i dislike it because it gives the front so much more traction that i had to dial out all of the oversteer - still some left- but im getting it there, but i also dont have a stock suspension.

#1 is to rotate or I'd bother with the 225s for the fronts. #2 was balance. I was getting push thru some of the corners and the 245s would help.

My fender is about a fingerwidth from the tire but the fender has seen better days anyway. Time to go Clockwork Orange on that lip I guess.

I run 245/45x16 on all fours. I have an 90 S2 and it is not an issue. The fenders are rolled from the factory. They started doing it with the TurboS and the later S2s. You may need to have them rolled to be sure you have no clearance issues.

I tried 245/45/16's Toyo RA-1's with 8" phone dials on the front of an 88 944T (not an S). I did not want to modify the fenders. They looked close to me. I put blue tape on the edges of the fenders to see if it hit. With normal and moderate street driving it was ok. I wanted to see if it would be ok on the track, so I found an empty parking lot and spun it. They hit. The 245's will go on the back and I bought 225/50/16's on 7" phone dials for the front. Every car may be a little different.

I get rubbing on my '87 n/a (which as i understand does not have the factory rolled fenders) using 225/50/16 v710's (its a very wide tire for its size) and it rubs under very heavy cornering. My car is fairly low in the front, a bit under 13-inches from the center of the wheel to the fender lip and only has 200lb springs. Thats also only with about 1.5 degrees of negative camber.

Strange thing is my 225/50/16 Dunlop SP8000's dont rub in the front, and i just did an auto-x in them today.

The tire widths seem to be relative from tire to tire. The tires I'm checking are DOT-Rs and they seem to run wide. Now that I've seen some reviews of the tire I want, I'm understanding why they're on sale.

Seems like a lot more unsprung weight for the benefit to me.

I'm running 8's all around on one set of wheels with 245/45/16s that are purported to run wide. There's plenty of clearance on my '87 without rolling the fender lips. Stock ride height, stock spring rates. The only downside that I've noticed is that the car is more prone to tramlining (i.e., following imperfections in the pavement or wandering a bit on the highway) with the 245s up front instead of the 225s that I run on my club sport wheels.

I've run 245-45-16's on all four corners of my Turbo Cup car for 20 years- balance seems perfect.
