******* AFTERMATH *********

7 or 8 total 944 variants were in attendance.
Some gorgeous specimens

(I think I have this right)
924S
924 Turbo
944 early
951
944S2 ?
951
944

I'm not sure, and I'm bad with names.
the departure was kinda cool, with a few zigs and zags on the 91 between 3 of us.

Hopefully by the next one my 96 red one will be fixed.
Those that took pics, please post

We had a great time and I got to meet a lot of new people that I thought were pretty cool indeed. The Silver Rose owned by Darwin was very nice! The 931 was a rare sight and Chris with his track 924 was awesome. Here are a few pics!

I was amazed the distance some of you guys drove to be there tonight. Darwin drove 120 miles with his lovely wife from 29 palms, I hope he made it back alright. Also, Todd drove from Simi Valley and our friend Ninefofo drove from the West Side! And Don from Commerce, thanks for the turnout eveyone! Until next time!!

I realized I missed this when a bunch of car-shirted guys came into the OC Hooters tonight. Sadly my '44 is still on stilts, so I'll have to wait until the next one.

My consolation prize is that the K1 Speed kart track in Irvine is awesome! 100x better than Dromo 1. Not only are the karts noticeably more powerful (20hp 50 volt electrics vs. 9 hp gas), the racing surface is perfectly smooth blacktop asphault with... wait for it... ACTUAL GRIP! No more slip-sliding "racing" for me at Dromo 1. Really good news is they're opening up a new K1 in Torrance around the beginning of '08. So I know where I'll be heading for lunches pretty regularly next year.

It was a little pricey at $55 for 3x 14 lap races, but it was a blast, very nice karts and facility. Maybe our next G2G spot?

I'm soooo....sorry I missed this...I just couldn't get away.

So when are you planning on another So. Cal. GTG? I HAVE to go and meet you guys. How many are going to the El Toro Auto-X on Oct. 21st...I'll sign up to do the Auto-X with the PCA Orange County Region.

Let us know the next GTG at Sonic or El Toro...just keep me and the rest of the OC, LA, 944's up to date.

Take Care,
Carolyn
