Default Southern California GTG/Auto-X -- Oct 21st, Irvine

With the success of the September 14th GTG (https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/375250-southern-california-gtg-sept-14th.html), I'd like to try to organize the next one. I will be attending a PCA auto-x event in Irvine, October 21st, at El Toro AFB and some folks agreed that it would be a great location for a GTG. There are usually an assortment of 100+ Porsches at each event.

With admission being free, those who just want to meet can arrive at any point during the day. The event runs from approx. 9:30 - 5:30, so there will be plenty to see anytime you arrive.

If you'd like to participate (highly recommended!), you must first be a PCA member (www.pca.org, $42) and sign up online with the local Orange County Region chapter (www.pcaocr.org/autocross2007_Test.html, $60). Please see the latter link for details on tech registration, schedule, etc.

Teaser shots from previous events:

Count me in! I have to try to get the car ready. I started taking it apart today to replace vacuum lines. On the way home I lost a good majority of power and have already found some pretty bad lines.

I'm looking forward to making it.
Maybe the guards red 944 will be fixed by then. If not, I'll bring the beige early 944.
neither one is track ready, so I'll just watch and chill.

I'm going to be doing the Auto-X that day with my Black 944. My husband and our friend Doug will also be doing the Auto-X Red 968 and Blue 944 S2.

See ya on Oct. 21st

Just injecting a little life into this one. Keeping it on the calendar.

One thing I just thought of... (and it hurt) was if we could have a "mini" swap meet out there. Seems a lot of us have parts laying around. I wonder if they'd (track peeps) would mind if we have a tail gate swap meet...

Any ideas?

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. I know there are a few things I'd like to snag up if some people have them.

I usually bring at least 3 totes full of spares/tools/etc, so I don't see any harm in bringing bits to sell. Getting everybody in one area may be a little tough though...but we can work it out. I'll be there at 7:30 am roughly, so I can try to reserve enough space for maybe 5-6 cars.
