For what it's worth 6 years ago when mine broke I gave the Porsche dealership an hour of labor (~$90) and they fixed it. Lasted until a few months ago. I got the gears but instead of fighting through this I might take it down to the local Porsche guru Harry Williams to deal with. If you are tired of messing with it, maybe paying someone else a bit of cash to fix it right would be a smart move... Time is money!

I just fixed my sunroof last night !!! No gears stripped

This time I followed Clarks-Garage procedure to the letter. Clark says to listen for the micro switch when manualy turning the clutch, well one of them was not making contact. I also made sure to perfectly align the arms, Clark also has a procedure to do that. If they are not equal on each side then one will strip.

Then I set my clutch very very loose, and slowly increased it until the arms started moving.

Good luck
