Anyone fimiliar with the procedure to order a new key? I'd love as many details as possible. Haven't driven the car in a while and can't seem to locate my key.

Call a local locksmith. They should be able to cut a new key from the lock codes, or, worst case, re-pin the lock cylinders to another key pattern.
If I'm not mistaken, lock codes are found on the door lock cylinders themselves, so the door needs to be opened up to find them.

Take your vin to a dealer, if they place the order first thing in the AM you will have the key next day, they only cut keys from 9am till noon, and only ship them next day. it should be around $25- $30

If you bring in an ID, registration and the VIN they'll make the key no problem. I had issues with a locksmith on my car, it only opened certain doors and didn't work in the ignition. Might have just been my specific locksmith, though.

I would double check with the dealer as Porsche don't keep records that long anymore.
A locksmith may be your best bet, using the door lock as a pattern (the right door lock tends to be less worn and gives a more accuurate key )
Make sure you always have two keys (and know where the spare is)
