Default Feedback system for buyers 'n' sellers on Rennlist?

I recently purchased a new tranny off a Rennlister, and it was a very positive experience. It was really well packed and expertly shipped. However I was nervous about it because I was basically PayPaling a bunch of dough to a total stranger (the Customs guys thought I was nuts).

Is there any way of getting an unofficial eBay-style feedback system of some kind? Or is that unnecessary?

Just sort of thinking out loud ... apologies if this thread doesn't belong here (or if it violates a rule).

It definately does seem that bad deals with members are the exception rather than the rule.

I wish we could get an "advice rating" instead... lol I haven't had issues with buying and selling on Rennlist, but some of the wrenching advice that get posted here as "fact" is unbelieveable at best and potentially deadly to your car if followed.

Regards,

There is a bicycle forum that I belong to that has a "positive feedback" and "negative feedback" section. The sections include forum members, ebay sellers, craigslist sellers, vendors, etc. The feedback sections are actually quite helpful and one of the bad feedback posts saved me from a potential nightmare. The caveat to posting in the sections is that everything is supposed to be only factual, no "Ebay member ________ sucks azz, don't buy from them".

I think one section for buyer/seller feedback would be fine. Just title the thread somewhat like ebay feedback with the user name and "rating," then put in all the details in the post. Having only one section makes it easier for searching for info on someone, as you get both negative and positive info at once.

Hopefully the system wouldn't be abused (or spark nasty arguments) ...

When you click on a members username, you get a menu like so:

View Public Profile

How about adding a "Transaction feedback" line where you can read feedback responses from others, as well as add feedback of your own (similar to eBay).

It would be simple to use, and no searching required. AND it might help to reduce the number of "I got screwed by so-and-so!!!!111" threads that usually result in public pissing matches.

im guilty of buying and selling stuff here on rennlist. i am lucky to have had all positive experiences so far, both as a buyer and a seller.

for $18 a year i think we are asking a lot of John, and possibly turning this site from a technical site to a flea market.

I think one can do searches and perhaps a seller that posts on the board could ask the purchaser to post to the thread whether their experience was good or bad.

search is an awesome tool.
