Default 911 & Porsche world 951 article

So does anyone out there subscribe or pick up this magazine? I got hooked on it back in 05 when I moved to the UK.

Well in the latest edition available here in the States there is a nice article on a 951 that a guy has bumped up to 3.2 litres. OK his starting point was a 3.0L engine from an euro S2 and the engine builder says he can go to 3.4L along with the increase in cc's he's made some other heady upgrades too, turbocharger Vitesse MAF, etc.

Bottom line is mountains of torque starting early in the rev range, 450 lb/ft and approx 350 rwhp making a car that runs with 996 turbos and the likes. Oh the cost, starts at approximately a reasonable 10,000 GBP or about $22,000!!!

Now can you imagine 450 lb/ft of torque? Hey if you have any tree stumps to pull up on the farm and need a 4 banger P car to do it, this guy's got the car for you.

I read that article earlier this week. He's using those controversial MID sleeves that have been burning up the 951 board lately. I guess you could count his car as a nice success story, although I don't know which vendors he worked with. I do know he was running a Vitesse MAF system.

The owner posts on the 951 board. Too bad, he went on to crash that car a week or so after the article was written during a track day. Ouch.

The thing that frustrated me with that article is when it used numbers to compare it to the 996T, it pulled hp/tq numbers from when the car still had the stock exhaust, AFM, and not so much tuning. I'd like to know about what kind of numbers he's putting down now.

Yeah he documented his entire build (pretty much) on the 951 board; check for the thread "3.2L UK Turbo Hits the Road" or something to that extent...

Id rather save the 22k and put it towards an acre of land in the Carolinas.

He did crash, but he's also repairing it. The damage was to the left side of the car and most was just sheet metal damage. I don't know how it is right now but I hope he's coming along with it.

As mentioned already, the owner of the car is on the 951 forum. From what I hear, the car is getting a few mods due to the crash. For the latest HP/TQ numbers check the thread on the 951 forum. I believe they are adding Vitesse Wasted Spark and a few other mods.
The Engine uses MID sleeves and a very unique combustion chamber sealing method. As I understand it, there are a few big displacement 951s in the work. More interesting news to come from the UK.
