If I hit a sharp abrupt bump, rough railroad crossing for example, the motor cuts out and can only be restarted by switching the ignition off, then on, let the clutch out to turn the motor and it will start right away. Or crank the starter.
I changed the DME back to the original one in case a connection was broken, put in a new Wilkes chip last summer in the one I took out today, made no difference. I'm taking the car to the shop tomorrow for an oil change, plan on checking grounds and fuel pump connections. The ignition switch was replaced a year ago and I tried banging on that while driving, car did not switch off.
Anything I can try while the car is up on the hoist for an oil change tomorrow?
Mike

Have you checked the DME plugs at the rear of the engine, just beside the firewall? If they're even a bit loose the whole shebang kicks the bucket ... and it kinds sounds like you've got an intermittent connection.
It's two black wires that connect at a metal mounting-thing at the back of the cam cover. Pop the hood, lean in and squeeze the plugs together good and tight. Hopefully that's all the problem is.

check the battery!!! it happened to me... the battery clamp may come loose, and depending on what series battery you have in there (in my case an optima) it can jump up (or slide forward) and ground itself on the underside of the hood and kill the motor.
