Default removing throttle body on a 86 turbo

Hi all,
I'm trying to remove the throttle body from the intake manifold on my 86 turbo to get to the oil feed line on my turbo. I want to replace an o-ring on top of the turbo (oil feed line) without removing the intake manifold. I think I might be able to reach the turbo by just removing the throttle body. There are 4 allen type bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold. What size allen wrench should I use, and any tips to avoid stripping the allen bolts? Also, if I remove the throttle body from the intake manifold, should any gaskets between the throttle body and intake manifold be replaced (part #?)?
Thanks,
Adam

I've never removed the TB from my 951, but have removed them from numerous other cars. There should be a gasket between the manifold and TB; don't worry about getting a direct OE replacement, as the gasket material is stupid cheap and all the exact same for this application. Go to Autozone or the like and get some gasket material and make the gasket based on the original one.

If you're truly worried about stripping the bolts, spray some WD-40 or penetrating oil in there and let it sit for a bit. Just be careful and use common sense.

you could try removing the TB to get to the oil feed line o-ring but its going to tight.there are 4 allen screws that hold the TB in place.remove those 4 and the throttle cable and its off.but i would recommend taking off the intake manifold to replace some vacum lines and do a venturi delete.its one of those, while your in there type of things.hope this helps

.
The TB gasket is an o-ring with groove. I don't think a flat gasket would be as effective and could possibly disrupt air flow.

Part #999 701 468 40 (67.5mm x 4mm). It's a good chance to do a TB reseal kit if you have the time.

Ah cool thanks. I figured it was just a flat gasket.

Definitely use the o-ring, then; it wouldn't be the best idea to use a flat gasket.

5mm allen IIRC. One oring behind the throttle body which is usually nice and crusty.

I highly recommend getting a throttle reseal/rebuild kit and doing that while you are in there. Easy to do and very worthwhile considering the condition or many ob the stock rubber gaskets in there.

I'm on my PDA while or vacation, so I don't have my usual collection of links, but I think its arnworx that sells a kit? Hopefully someone else has the link.

Fantastic kit, just like everything else I've gotten from him.
