Big *** dent in quarter panel
This actually happened last winter during our big snow day the rear fend got hit and there is a big *** dent on the lower portion of the rear fender.
it is not going to pound out for sure and will need lots of body filler to fix it up.
now I have spent all of my money on mechanical work and maintenance and the car is going to be my daily driver in a few weeks and it looks great until you see the rear fender and it makes me want to puke everytime I see it.
I tried pounding it from the inside but it just made it worse lol and paint started cracking and chipping. The dent covers a pretty big area like 1.5 squart feet, some spots are dented in pretty far.
The thing is I'm student so I don't really care if the car look perfect but I want it to look decent.
wondering what my choices are to get it fixed. I was thinking about stripping the paint off that area with paint stripper and using a lot of bondo / body filler, fiberglass or whatever is best to fill it up then shape it back up as best as I can.
The problem is this are is pretty curvy and hard to shape so I might make a monstrocity out of the car.
or maybe take it to a place like Macco or a local body shop and get a quote first before I start messing things up.
I'd pay up to 500 cdn to have it done I can't spend much more as I still need new brake rotors and pads and I just spend a lot of money in new parts.

what do you mean?
get a new rear fender? that would be pretty damn expensive and has to be welded on.
I want ot fix it cheaply.
the rear quarter panel is the worst area to have a dent in. The front fenders i could have easily replaced from a parts car and just get it sprayed

Are there any Porsche salvagers in the Vancouver area? You might be able to get a panel cheap.

yeah but doesn't removing the rear quarter panel require cutting welds and rewelding then repainting. Even if I get a cheapis quarter penel that would still cost a lot in labour.
can't a shop just bondo it up and paint it to look decent?
I won't care if it doesn't look 100% perfect I just want it to look better than it does now.

it needs to be pin pulled out then your filler (not bondo brand) NAPA bodypro gold is nice stuff... and then paint will be the hardest to get it to match... might want to go to a good body supply shop and get them to match your paint...

yeah I will have to find a good body shop or they might screw it up, the metal is all bend up so needs to be hammered, pulled, lots of filler and paint.
not sure if I can find a place to do it for 500. I have a feeling most shops will tell me I need a new rear quarter panel.

lol no ***.
snow day back winshield had snow on it. I back up and this guy comes right behind me to get into the parking and smash I hit him on his rubber bumper with my quarter panel. no damage to his car and my car looks like crap now.

I have the same but on both sides, I've thought of a rear valence, but it won't cover enough of my dents. Now I'm thinking of getting just the lower portion cut off and an undented one welded on, instead of the whole rear quarter panel. I would love to do fiberglass but I'm afraid it'll kick me out of my class in autoX and my car is no way competitive in modified. It's barely competitive in CSP.
