Default dropping the engine, motor mounts sticking up Update: Got it out

dropping the engine out right now, having it hung up at the moment.

I unbolted the engine mounts from the cross member (single bolt at bottom), but the engine and cross member still are stuck together (but not tightly).

Is there something else that needs disconnected? I have gone through the Clark's garage list and checked things off as I have gone, nothing obvious is standing out.

Do I need to unbolt the mounts at the engine side too?

The motor mounts sort of wedge into the side of the crossmember. Try removing the two bolts that hold the motor mount to the engine stands (legs). You need to rotate the mounts a little to remove them from the crossmember.. might be able to coax them out with a prybar, but probably easier to remove the two bolts on each mount.

Yeah, when I pulled my engine, it was the 4 bolts that hold the motor mounts to the engine.

got it out last night. Needed to remove the motor mount top bolts, which was much easier when I could drop the whole assembly down about 6 inches. Other sticking points were the steering rack splines, DS balljoint, PS reservoir lines, and DS connections of the wiring harness.
