Default This weekend's completed project (new door for the nine-four-four)

I found a color-matched replacement door, and so far, so good!

Nice score on the doors/ You could just leave 'em off and go for the Wrangler look.

LOL, or maybe fit a Wrangler half door....(just for the summer though)! The original door had some less-than-perfect bodywork, and I found a perfect match in the same color. Everything's off the old door now, and I just have to remount everything on the new one. Clark's, Rennlist, and Hayne's provided all the info on the tricky parts. BTW, if you think that bike's vintage, then you should see the Holdsworth w/ full Campy Nuovo and 23" rims that I built in 1981!

This project took about a day and a half, but I'm happy with the finished results. While I had everything apart I lubed and adjusted the door handle mechanism so it now works great. The trickiest part of the job was getting the window back on the lifter mechanism, and the most tedious part was routing the cable harness into the new door. Now, I'm going for a nice ride...you know, the "shade tree mechanic victory lap".
