10 (or more) things to do to make your 944 much better

The O2 sensor only has an effect on the Motronic programming at idle, IIRC. Ours are closed loop systems (use only pre-defined spark and fuel maps, no sensor input). I'm too lazy to go look it up, but I'm pretty sure that's the deal. Maybe you did a few other things at the same time? Air filter, plugs, wires...?

I just won the auction for the manual Saratoga top last night, but not at his reserve. I called him to make an offer, and he's sticking to $600+shipping. I would have seriously considered 600 shipped, and told him so. He starts talking about how he estimates $100 shipping, but that's not a firm quote.
I can see where he has 88% feedback- there's a gap in communication when you talk to him on the phone. He can keep the roof at that price, too- how many factory manual roof cars are out there? GL unloading it.
As far as a good 944 fix, I can do a writeup on polishing cookie cutter/Fuchs lips. I gathered a lot of information from here and experimented with a few different things.
Also, I had an annoying side-to-side shifter rattle when it was in a gate. Step on the throttle at any speed and the stick would shake. New CV joints, bolts, and boots fixed it.

+ 1 on Throttle cam change
+ 1 on hood shocks (once a year in the AZ heat)
No one has mentioned headlamps - I replaced mine with a set from Rennbay and the difference is fantastic (avoiding the night/day pun)
Interior/courtesy light switches in the doors - found that the rubber boot and the switch (same part # as E-Brake switch) had corroded. Be careful taking out that phillips head screw so you don't lose the back of the switch in the fender
Cleaning window switches - several good guides on cleaning 20 years of grime from any of the console/window switches are out there.
Heater Clip on late cars - Just like the belts, it's not a question of if, it's a question of when. Possibly the cheapest dealer part out there.
Sunroof gears/motor - Check the gears for stripping, lubricate/replace as needed, check out Clark's for a guide on setting your torque settings (I'm still struggling with mine).
Replace rubber intake boot - cracks you cannot see can be on the underside.
I'm sure I had some more but I am at work and focused on that for now.....LOL
