Default oil pan gasket retainer?

anyone use these? worth the 100 bucks? it seems like it would be. i know that my oil pan gasket was bulging out all over when i took it out...

any idea on if i can find it cheaper anywhere.

I will never build another engine without one! Definitely worth it in my opinion. After you blow out your pan gasket and have to change it with the engine in the car, you would wish you had spent the money.

No one else makes them that I know of.

I have them fitted on my S2 cab..
I had to do the sump twice in 2-3months (long story..) the second time the car was apart I figured the extra us$100 was a small insurance to pay to ensure that it holds long term. I'm happy with them.

I bought mine from Europarts. Just beaware that you may not get the bolts to go with the kit and the bolts that you need are slightly longer than the stock ones. Easy to pick up from a good autoparts store.

I got the bolts with mine from Europarts...

Agreed, totally worth the money.

I've heard the reason the gasket pops out is because the metal spacers in the newer gaskets are too long, thus it won't sqeeze the gasket sufficiently. If your gasket is original, it'll have the smaller spacers so re-use them, or file down the new ones.
