Default Whats going on with my car?

1987 944S

I was driving home today, and enjoying myself by pushing it a bit Im on my last stretch of road to my house and I put her in 3rd and gas it around a car. as Im going by my car hesitates and seems to shudder, I am through passing the person, and I get in front and try to upshift the car will not engage any of the gears. So I put it in neutral and coast to a stop. I stop and try to put it into gear, it wont engage any gear but first, So I drive in first get up to 20mph or so and try to shift it still wont engage any gear so I stop again and engage first and drive home in first the whole way. I believe it is my clutch that is gone, it has not been replaced for some time, and I recently chipped my car and the first time I took it out I had some clutch slippage.

Does this sound like the correct symptoms?

regards
Dean

Is it slipping or do you have no gears? I would check the linkage on the trany. You may have had someting come loose.

Yea, sounds like a clutch. Mine behaved similarly strangely when the rubber center went.

Was it hard to get into gear before? That's what happened when my rubber-centered clutch started to go.

could be the rubber center- if the clutch is slipping, it will just slip and not move. Having trouble getting into gear, is your slave cylinder bad maybe?
