What are my 944s worth? I'm baffled!

Tom,
This may help ya out. 2.5 years ago I bought my S2 with 135K miles on for 8500, and it wasn't a bad deal. I just had the bank apprase my car as conlateral on another personal loan I was going to get and they told me that my S2 with 174K on the clock is worth 8250! and they go by Market Valuve! So I think 10K for your S2 isn't bad.
12.5K for the turbo with all the goodies is about right to I think being that it is a 87-newer car. Good luck!

Flooded market
No one will pay for upgrades you paid for, much of which is useless to some new buyers. And in some cases they will look at it as a deterent and reduce an offer based on the fact it has to be removed. Not to mention a car with a roll bar is telling them it has been tracked, not a good choice for a new owner, track junkie is another matter.
New lookers have been educated on the cost of ownership and less apt to trust the cars condition w/o records to prove said repairs, if this is an issue.

It's also WHERE you are. Have you noticed that most of the 944s are on the eastern side? I'm sure you've seen my other thread about the 944S2/968. It's not even original and the bozo is stuck at $8500.
I've seen/drooled over your car... but out of my budget, and with shipping.. WAY out of my budget.
If you got beauty out here, you could get your asking price.

As a small jab of revenge for your calling all of our cars "junk", I'd like to point out that you, Tom, have started no fewer than 25 threads in the last year and a half just to ask if you should sell one of your 944s, what it is worth, what you can replace it with, or if anyone wants to buy it. I'm not objecting, I'm listening closely as I too have a 944 n/a to liquidate. I just think it is humorous. Maybe you should create a blog and document your for sale/wanted de jour.

Normally, if I want to sell a car, I keep lowering price until someone buys it unless I have plenty of time or little motivation to get rid of it. Finding the right buyer with the money will take time as you already know. Getting of a commuter corolla is probably easier as they are more popular and require less maintenance. Also, pretty much any mechanic can work on the corolla for much cheaper shop rates than the $100+ rates for a 944.
