My $10 steering wheel is costing me a fortune. (Updated + a pic)
$10 5 bolt APC wheel from Ebay to replace my stock that's coming apart. The APC looks like the Prototipio but just $10.
Shipping- add $14
$25 steering wheel. Still ahead of the game.
I bought the Grant 3568 adapter to install but I discovered that the APC didn't come with the 5 bolt to 3 bolt adapter that the cheap grant wheels come with. Take that one back...
What I've found is the Grant Euro adapter 6572. $50 shipped and I'm not 100% on what I get with that. And I may want to change the APC horn button to a Porsche one... another $40.
$75 now. Man... $10 steering wheels...

Yea- I thought the APC wheel was going to be crap, and it is. It's not too bad though. It'll work. The grip material is the same as the rubberized stuff you dip tools in to get a grip.
Since this is going into my 'track' car, I'd rather have the rubber than a rotting leather used MOMO wheel off Ebay with god-knows who's been sweating all over it.
I'd love to have a real MOMO. Too much $ for this toy.

It's an easy way to turn $10 of Ebay crap into $60 of Porsche parts!

Ah, thats what it is. My PO put on a APC wheel just like Bob's, but is totally round. It looks really good, and is comfortable.
However, the contruction is poor. Pulling on the top you can flex the wheel a bit. Also recently the main arm to the left of the center button feels like its ready to come off if not for the covering and a bit of plastic.
Aside from a metal plate on the center back, I think the rest of the contruction is plastic.

It only costs like $10 to change the horn button. They should all work the same, so its just a matter of finding a new plastic piece to replace the current one with. I've got two that I switch back in forth in my momo depending upon my mood.
