I'm so paranoid, I have spares and I roll all the windows down when I do stuff like this.

I started getting paranoid like this when my home computer died, and before I was able to pull the backups off my work computer, the IT people pushed out an untested patch which killed the work computer

I also had my backup copy of MS Office get scratched, and when I put in the original CD to make another backup, the CD-RW made an odd sound - and scratched the original! Fortunately, I had a 3rd backup... which was probably against the EULA and illegal

The non-destructive hatch method works. If Calmacho can't send the link PM me; I won't post it here. I've done this on 83-86 cars only so can't vouch for later hatches with a different hatch motor/tumbler setup.

I did this two weeks ago. My sunroof track was already messed up so I pried up the roof, put in a broom handle and hit the lock/unlock switch in the center console. Guess what, it didn't work. Not sure if it was supposed to as some of my electrical things act a little funny. The I put a nail in the end of the broom stick and bent it to a hook. I hooked my keys and pulled them out. After that, I bought a keyless "add on" system from whitney. I haven't installed it yet but at least I'll have an extra "key".

anyone ever heard of using a tennisball? ive never tried it but its supposed to work on any kind of car. you cut a hole about the size of your lock into the tennis ball place the hole over the lock, press the ball really hard and fast. it forces air into the key hole lifting all the little things in there. you only have a small window of oppurtunity to actually open the door tho..so try to be quick

Just pop the rear quarter window out, it doesnt break when you do it. I got locked out of my car in a walmart once, so I had to buy a screwdriver and towel, and pop the quarter window out to get my keys that were in the car. Its a bitch to get back in, but its free.

I see you have 2 Porsches. Try using the key for the other Porsche in the driver side lock cylinder to open thte door. Most of the lock cylinders are so worn in these cars all it takes is a key similar to the original and it will open. At least on my 200k mile turbo I was able to use the key form my 42k mile turbo to open the drivers door. Worth a shot. Good Luck..

You could keep a hide-a-key in a random, undisclosed location on my car...

...I have door poppers, so I never have to worry about locking the doors, but every once in a while when I'm working on the car and not thinking about it, I'll shut the door with the keys in the ignition.

I really like the door poppers because when the doors freeze this winter, I won't have to worry about breaking keys off or being able to get in the car.

To fix spray a bunch of lock lube or wd-40 in there and catch the excess with a rag. If this doesn't work, you have to take apart the lock tumblers and clean out all the dirt and re-lube them. I did the later and now it feels like I could bend another key if I tried.

Thanks guys!! I got in using the triple secret method that calmchaos, theedge, and dimitry sent me. I tried the virgin chicken, my dad's Masonic ring, and chanting tsilnneR real fast 6 times that sopmeone pm'ed, but that only caused the cat to run like hell out of the garage. I tried both the other car's keys. I am waiting on my remote units from JC Whitney. They come w/two fobs; one will get put in the tool box just in case.
Thanks again!! That paid from my Rennlist for two years!
