Default spacer problems!!!!!

I bought some 911 wheels for the 84' and after reading/seeking advice I went with the 2" rear 1" front to fit.

The size of the spacers seem fine, however, it was my intention to go without the existing rear spacer with the 2". The threads on the studs do not start soon enough so I cannot remove the old spacer and use the 2 inch on the rears! It won't go tight since the bolt runs to the ends of the threads before tightening.

I don't want to add more spacer and I don't really want to change the studs.

I guess my only option is to buy a 1" set for the rears and sell the 2"?

I don't suppose there is such thing as a extra deep nut that has space at the start to go threadless? I'm dreaming right?

Damn...finished the clutch last night..new tires installed friday..ready to drop and ride 2day! feel a little dejected...

Are the older spacers fixed?

You could get steel lugnuts with aluminum cones...they need like 3 turns to grip the stud compared to the 8 or whatever that aluminum needs. The aluminum cones won't scratch your wheels either

the original 1" inch spacer is the factory spacer that just floats..the 2" inch I have is the hubcentric adapter with studs.

The issue is that the recessed holes to mount on the hud are too deep, so the lugs run out of thread before pulling the adapter tght to the hub face. See shody illustration below. The ] is the hub face, the \ are the threads on the studs. If the threads of the stud started 1/4" sooner, I wouldn't have an issue.
Hope I am making sense?

Maybe you could find a very tall nut that has one side against the hub and the other caught on a few threads.

it would have to be a lug, with no threads at the start of it Like below, a rounded end like the lug nuts, but no thread for the first 1/4". but I don't think it exists.

Here is what she looks like with a new pair of shoes..she's 15 footer..but she's paid for ;-)

They are Cup I's, 7.5 front 9 rear off a 91 964. I believe they are Mille Migla (mady in Italy)
I have the rears out 1/4" further than I want at the moment, but they look nice!
