Default occasional no-start

I think my starter is going but before I swap I am curious for opinions....about every 3rd start it will fail to spin the starter and just click (from the solenoid).

I've snugged up (they're clean) all the connections on the starter...the battery is less than 6mos old and fully charged.

My concern....what happens when the starter switch (w/ key) is going...just want to make sure that's not what's happening before I replace the starter.

mine was a loose connection at the negative terminal on the battery? Just a thought.

I'll check them again but I do believe the connections at both the battery and the starter are tight and clean.

just read clark's garage notes on the starter and feel like a dummy. I did not even think of just jumping across the two lugs on the starter...and if it works it's the ign. switch.
