Thumbs up Pictures of the 944 Turbo I am selling

As you know from another post, either the S2 with 68k miles or the 951 with just under 101k miles has to go.

I was able to get pictures of the 951 today. whichever goes first goes, and the other becomes/stays me weekend toy.

Here is a link to 47 photos.

I decided to put it out there with the seats and RedlineMan roll bar. The seats are new Momo Street Racer GTs (550 each without sliders or mounts which added close to $200 a seat). I am asking 12,900 for the whole enchilada.

Deatals of work done to car within last 9k miles follow:
New widshield in addition to a folder full of receipts from around 1990. It has just under 101k miles. Almost $20k was spent on it in the last 10k miles by the prior owner. here is a list of some of the stuff done

Clutch & Synchros, about $3k
Turbo (K27 spec) fabspeed downpipe, auththority chips, Speed Force Racing stainless catback with SFR hi flo cat and bypass pipe, lindsay boost enhancer, parts are over $2500
Belts rollers and i am pretty sure water pump, also the front of the motor was resealed - about $3k about 2k miles ago - almost ready to be retensioned
Koni yellows $800 new control arms $500 each
K&N cone filter and K&N in the stock airbox
Sony stereo and speakers
17 wheels and pilot sport tires
M030 sway bars and a strut tower brace
front brakes & rotors - cost me $650 about 1,000 miles ago (two track days)
hood struts
new lloyds mats that say "turbo"
There is more but I cant remember it, and cant find the list on my hard drive.

The car is red/black has VIN stickers on every panel and is very presentable for a 19 year old car that averaged about 5k miles a year. it has always been garaged/covered.

I would like to sell it for $11,800 without the roll bar or seats, $12,900 with them. the clutch didnt pop up when i was coming home from pocono so I assume it is getting ready for a master/slave. I dont drive the car other than to/from DEs.

The price is pretty cheap for all you get. it is set up for DE or weekend fun.

It's certainly a lovely car, but I'm guessing the kids don't ride around in the back too often (WHACK).

I like the license plate...do you like the PORSCHE light bar?

If it wasn't for the lightbar and the color, that is much closer to where I want my car to be than mine actually is. Its got all the parts I want (save for a MAF) and looks to be in tip top shape!! I even have a new coolant tank I could put in there!!

Just never been a fan of red...lol...and yeah, the lightbar can be removed, but then you have the holes to fill, and the holes on the bumper for the license plate...

still a nice car!!

Tim,
When I saw the ad for the car I knew I had to buy it. I knew the PO, saw it in his garage a few years earlier, and at the track.

The guy is ****, keeps records of everything. It is perfect for what I bought it for. A perfect weekend toy. Set up for DEs, and still comofortable enough to drive a few hours to the track.

I wont say everything has been done to it because that is the curse, but he did not only the routine maintenance, but more.

The turbo is new, synchros and clutch is new, engine seals, shocks, sways, control arms, rotors, etc. the paint is very presentable for a 19 year old car, and the dash cracks are small.

my new neighbor came over and saw Porsche on the car. She told me her husband loved his Jags. When i told her this was my race car (before I washed it) she asked if i was nervous taking such a new car to the track. she couldnt believe it was an 88 when i told her i didnt want to leave more than 15k on the side of a track.

I am not a fan of the light bar, but dont care because i dont see it when i am driving. I am a fan of the sony sound system and speakers, and the sound of the speed force racing exhaust.

Like i said before, if i was parking in a decent lot (housing projects are around the lot by the train station)i would be using the S2 as a daily, and the turbo as a toy. The house i am now renting has a one car garage, and there is no street parking. the driveway and garage are good for six cars total. I have four, my wife one. that doesnt leave room for guests, and we are five houses from the beach. plus it is a PITA moving cars.

Either the 951 or S2 has to go. If both go she who must be obeyed said i could get a 911 with the $, and if i get a targa i can sell the miata to my buddy of 42 years that just offered me $100 more than i have into it.

Tom

A co-worker has been eyeing my S2 for a while and I let him drive it about 2 weeks ago...he's been looking casually since then...I'll ask him tomorrow.

Thanks Joe.

I got the car from Norm Mandell in December. He had his techs give it the once over. If I had the parking..... and if the long beach train station lot wasnt in the middle of their projects.

i posted in the FS section that i really like driving both the turbo and S2. and while they look the same, their personalities are completely different. i cant really decide which i should keep so i am putting both out there and letting fate take over.

If the S2 goes, I will miss having a S2, but know in a few years my brother will tire of the gray one I sold him, and I will probably be able to get it from him. just what i dont need, a restoration project! but it may be fun in a few years.

As far as the 951 I was fortunate enough to drive it on the North Course at Pocono after I spun a rod bearing on my 1987 944S. As a result of my test drive and the big grin I saw on my face when I looked in the mirror I had to have a turbo. Before I bought my '88 Turbo S I salivated on 2 different occassions as Tom was being Tom and was entertaining the idea of buying a different car and selling me the Turbo. My salivation led to disappointment as he decided to keep the Turbo for himself (that selfish bastard). I can definately say that anyone who buys this turbo is getting a great, well maintained trackworthy car.

Here's a pic of me in the car at Pocono:
