Well to start, I cant believe im doing this. But since the financial stresses of moving to California have been something i can only consider to be the worst luck anyone could ever have, im putting my project car up for sale. Its a 85 early 944 with a 968 engine. an 944s2 cluth, flywheel and pilot bearing were used to link it up the original tranny. Now heres where the fun starts. This winter in New York it was about 0 degrees till the end of April. Also being that i was working in California, Ive been flying between the two states for the last few months. This being said when it dropped to zero i stopped working on the project. The dme still needs to be hooked up to the 968 engine. And an exhaust must be fabricated (I still have the original exhaust but the engine is fitted with bosch tuned headers right now) i also have a borla spitfire exhaust to go on it, basically it would just need a pipe fitted inbetween if you dont want to use the old exhaust. One brake line needs to be rerun and i have a set of steel brake lines to do the job. I would personally deem the swap about 85-90% complete. And all parts necessary to complete it are here. The body of the car has fiberglass fenders on it from GTracing and therefore they dont match the original Burgundy leather color of the car. There was a ding in the side that was smoothed out, it just basically needs to have some touch ups and the fenders painted, unless you want a new color. The black interior is all leather and in amazing condition. The 968 engine was bought from GermanDismantlers and has 64000 miles on it. I also have the original 944 engine which has 120000miles with the turbo water pump and new timing belt and was still running strong which would be thrown in if you want it. Although I doubt anyone else would want this project besides one of us, im only putting this out to rennlisters.
Asking $6200 OBO
breakdown:
85 early 944 - $3500
968 engine - $3000
944s2 new clutch flywheel pilot bearing $500
944 tuned headers and borla spitfire exhaust $300
GTracing fiberglass 944 fenders $700
cone filter from i dont even remember where $70
magnecore wires - $90
auxilary oil cooler - $200
jvc cd deck and amp - $400
You owning my porsche dream project - priceless
I gurantee theres more new parts i forgot to list that i changed out just cause they were showing age. As everyone already knows this project gets expensive, and im losing a few grand which means you could save yourself a few.
Its in upstate ny, near syracuse and you'd have to arrange to pick it up

i appreciate the offer, but i actually have a group of friends that will be taking it to bville soon now to finish it. Im sure it will be much more desirable when finished anyway, although if i get to drive it even once i can almost gurantee id sell a kidney to keep it. its to bad im leaving to california next week and i dont have time to see it finished till i come back to visit.
