Exclamation 944 idle issues

i just bought a 1984 944 with 92,000 miles and the engine idles fine when cold but when the engine idles to operating temperate you cant rev it up or it just about dies when you pedal it. the engine sputters but stays running. ever hear of this happening? the fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs and rotor have been replaced and it still does this.

Check the injectors to see if they're dirty; after that it might be your DME relay gone all wonky.

If a shop has messed with your car recently, check the air flow sensor, the little bosch box (black) next to the air box. Sounds like it may be flooding itself.

Yes very bad. That is your AFM(air flow meter), the cap needs to be on it.

It will move when you hit the gas man but if it jumps around when idling, you've got big issues. It's not totally messed if the cover is off, you can re-adjust it. I did it to mine it works fine now. All you have to do to move the needle (btw left=rich right=lean on my 85.5) is to move the metal clip that holds the cog in place and turn the cog so the needle moves. Real simple. On my car it came all the way to the right so it would idle like **** because it was almost flooding itself each second so any throttle killed it. I start it all the way to the right side-lean-and it works perf. Another rennlister showed me his unmessed around with sensor and thats where it lived.
