Oh hells yes!
Do ya suppose this would fit under the hood of a 44? Whats the most power a porsche transmission/rear end can handle?

Its either this or a Flathead project, either way id need another car.

From what I have seen with that engine is that its as wide as it is long. if you were to take everything out and move it to the back it may fit. A better swap I would like to see would be a three or four rotor turbo engine.

If i did this, i know i would have to cut and paste(so to speak) alot of the car to make that motor fit. I would try to keep things as stock as possible. I dont need 1100 hp and 1000 ft lbs of tq. but it would certainly make things more interesting.

Banks sold a turbo kit like this in the mid 80's. He took a mid 80's firebird to 247 mph on the salt. I've got an original 80's kit in boxes in my garage. It will fit with a little hood modification.

I'm sure it could fit...even though it doesn't represent outer physical dimensions, if a 350CI Chevy will fit easily a 375 should squeeze in.
According to a local 944 racer, N/A trannies are good for about 400HP. Most LS-swaps you see have the 951 tranny which would probably be good to 600 or so. For an 800HP motor I'd assume a 951 would work for a short while but you might run into problems shortly.

Whats your budget? You can do an LS2 with L92 heads, cam, and a reprogramming and have 520+hp, it stays N/A so there is a whole ton of expence and problems that you don't have to deal with.

I'd rather try and cram a 1JZGTE Supra engine in a 951, and proceed to run rediculous boost all day long with stock internals.
Or simply switch out the rods and head gasket and run unfathomable boost

why go 2.5L when you can go 3.0L with 2JZ?
i also think it might be a touch too tall.
and finding parts for a 1JZ should be real, real fun.

I wasn't aware of the displacement differences between the 1JZ and 2JZ. I thought they were relatively the same besides the number of turbochargers. I figured a 1JZ with an enormous turbo would get the 1000hp job done more efficiently, as I hear most of them do.

If i were to do this, i would use a 951, that way it would still seem stock, when you'd would hear the turbo whine.
