Default Source for 12V switched power for an Autometer oil temp gauge?

I am getting my oil temp gauge in FINALLY and I need a source of 12V switched power. Where have "all ya 'all" gone for this? I was thinking the 12V switched power socket that the MAF power wires is going to. Would there be any problem using this?

Where is it mounted? A-pillar or center console?

If it's on the console you could probably jump some power off the cigarette lighter or something.

You need to make sure that it is clean, exactly 12v power or it will not read correctly. I recommend coming straight of the battery for power and finding a good clean gounding point for negative lead.

Really? 12V straight off the battery huh? Charging of the system by the alternator will not affect the meter?

I did that too for the lighting for both the Boost and now the Oil temp guage. I have the wires run I just need to get things hooked up.

Exactly. That is how my autometer is powered.

Are you running the LR A-pillar gauge pod? How is it in terms of fitment? I am planning on getting it, but only if I don't need to go about all that modification after purchasing it in the first place.

Yes I am and the fitment was fine. It took no modification to mount. the biggest pain was getting the stock A pillar trim out. One of purest buddies told me it looked rice but I really like it.
