Default MAF relocation

I have a k&n maf upgrade and for some reason, the filter is resting on the cam cover. The "neck" of the intake looks similiar to the maf ones, so i think it is an aftermarket part, but how do i re position it? i guess it wouldn't be a big deal, but what about the headlight pop up deal? no interference. also, how do i tell if my 02 sensor is bad?
thanks guys
zach

What?

What is a k&n maf upgrade?

Why is the filter on the wrong side of the engine?

What are you talking about?

What kind of car do you have?

blysccr take a pic of your engine bay and post it. I am having a hard time understanding what is out of place without a visual. On the O2 sensor you will need to check the signal wire voltage once the sensor has warmed up it should fluctuate in reading, if it remains at one constant voltage or has no voltage it is probably bad. You will need an accurate meter to read this properly. Even at idle the voltage will fluctuate as the dme adjust the fuel injection and ignition timing.

alright, i'll try to get a pic, but in the meantime, when other cars have the stock intake delete, there is a k&n filter and a u-type hose. instead of the filter being by the driver's side headlamp, it is resting on the cover infront of the engine. Maybe it's just flip around issue. i'll take a look
thanks
porsche 951 btw

Sounds like you just have a filter kit. The filteris by the driver side headlamp when you have upgraded to a mass air flow sensor from the stock barn door. After the filter is the air still going through the factory bosch air meter box? It will be a metallic box with a black plastic cover that covers the electronics.

IIRC, the airbox on 951s is in the middle behind the intercooler...maybe the PO took off the airbox and put a cone filter in front of the turbo?

You don't have a maf kit. You have a cone filter with adapter. It replaces the stock air box.
