In 2005-(Ski Resort) 1/2 the pack missed a turn, got lost and and took a LONG drive.
In 2006-(Nelsons) Everyone had a map and had to make their own directions, nobody got lost that I know of. There was NOTHING quick about it, as Kid said it was 6 hours of navigating. (yikes!)

My intent in '06 was to slow down the pack by breaking them up. If you ever put a few together you will notice the pace quickens rapidly. Yea, I know I 'm supposed to be in the pace car, but if a car or group gets split off, what do they do to catch up? Yep, haul ****.

I suppose I could do a group drive with signage, well distributed route maps, frequent gathering stops, and promise public humiliation to those who get lost (and lead others astray). We could stay together, keep it tame, and burn some gas that way. Hmmmmm. These are very good for videos too.
Mr. Dan my good friend you have to separate the people who want to go sight seeing from the people who want to enjoyy there 944 and have the b*lls to follow you. I am serious. I am expecting a hell of a drive and Good track time. I am not driving all the way from NY not to take advantage of having a great time. After all you are the reason why i ordered escort cup suspension.

Nope, I just remember the link. Vince I think used to crack lots of jokes along those lines, (or maybe I'm thinking of his internet lyrics?), when the first thread about this years fest came to be, and I remember when Scott posted it wayyy back. I laughed my effin *** off to the explaination of that video. Good times, good times.

I have a decent memory some days, what can I say?

I was just reviewing the track roster, and I am extremely pleased to note that our "balance" is just about perfect. I've got just over a dozen novices, 15 or so advanced drivers, and near a dozen instructors. I can always use more instructors..but I think we are right on track for a full house with solid run groups. For those who have not paid yet, please take care of it. I'm starting to write the checks...

Here's the thing. Next year I should be in a good enough financial situation to afford (realistically!) a 944. Heck, even a 924...since they're technically invited too. I really hope I get this job in maintenence though, because all of my good plans depend on it.

Of course, there's always Valvoline.

And do you still want your hood painted? It's getting that time.

I'll be there early if things go the same as last year, (second one there after Ed last year). I know how to use a torque wrench.
