Default How hot does the head/intake man get?

I was just wondering about how hot the head gets where the intake manifold mates up to it. Wondering because I was thinking about making a phenolic spacer for the intake manifold.
My problem is that I can get G10 phenolic sheets (rated to 284F) for pretty cheap, and G11 rated (300F) seems to be much more expensive.
Not expecting any significant gains, just wanted to play around with it.

284 is plenty, remember water boils at 212.

My intake mani on the turbo is lukewarm on a dyno... or after a hard boost session...

But what about right at the head? On my Acura, I wouldn't dare touch that thing after a good fun run.

HAHA, I have, it certainly feels hot! Thats also why I was wondering about the 284 degree rating.

I know that there is a guy on e-bay that sells them a couple times a month. I do not see any there right now but I'm sure that they will be back. I bought his kit which came with gaskets and hardware. My intake manifold doesn't get hot anymore, and there is a power difference, not alot but I can definatly feel something better.

Like was stated before 284 should be enough, but water under pressure doesnt boil at 212, for every pound of pressure you put it under it raises the boiling point 3 deg.

And radiator caps in general are in the 10-25 psi range....still not a huge difference.

I don't know what the cap on a 944 is. When I bought my car that was the only good part. I'm slowly swapping out the rest.

Assuming that the car is not sitting still idilling for periods of time to allow for heat soak, the manifold should remain cool on an n/a during spirited driving. When the motor pulls in air it creates a vacuum in the intake manifold effectively cooling the manifold PV=NRT Pressure is directly related to temperature
