2nd, 3rd,4th the belts, pdq. Also change all the fluids. The roof may be fixed by dis-assembly and cleaning of the cable drive at the lifters. At least that was the case in my car. It it sat for two years for sure the seals on the cam tower will beleaking.

What are they going to do for $800? My parts alone, no machining, for a refresh were well over that. Get a good list of what your mechanic is actually going to do for $800. Good decision on the belts, it's a start

Guys just so you know, He is a 17yr old . He is a good guy. I am sure at one time or another, most of us on here has put some stupid exhaust on one of our cars at his age. So give him a break. You have to look at how he is looking at this. He paid 2000 for the car and know he has to spend more than what he paid for it to keep it in good running condition. I think he is thinking of selling the car. The car runs pretty good for what it is but it is definetly a fixer uper.
I know most kids who come in my store have two questions. How do I make it go fast and how do I make it sound cool. I think the second questions faids away with age.
