Default Need help on rim and tire choice (18")

I have a 86 944 N/A and I am wondering what is the widest rims I can go with? and whats a good tire size to go with them?
They are going to prob be late offset so what size of spacers will I need?
What is the importance of the 968 castors when going with larger rims?
The rims I want
Size (front) 18x8.5
Size (rear) 18x10 ... to wide?

For wheels that large, why not upgrade brakes too?

I just did a search on the castor blocks this morning, and I gather that with the higher stresses on the suspension (from more grip) the 968 units are better suited. Also a Porsche reccomendation. I am not quite sure of how to install as of yet. I believe that for some of the torquing, the car should be on the ground. Maybe more light to be shed on this.

you can do that easily w/ spacers- my 86t has 8's and 11's-very close in the rear but fits- youll need spacers.
