Crunky - the cabin carpet is in decent condition, albeit stained in many places (
). The rest of the interior is in relatively good condition, especially for a 22 year old car (MY 85). The hatch carpet, however, is absolute trash - when I bought the car I vacuumed out all the dirt that sat in the sun for 6 years and literally sucked the color out of the carpet. Now the weave is coming undone and there's stringy stuff all over the hatch. I need to replace it...:/ (get some BBS wheels and be cool like me
)
Airflite - That dashcap came from either Performance Products (the Porsche catalogue) or from Pelican...it was under $80 and was very simple to install. You just sand down any cracked/broken/otherwise rough spots, clean the whole top with windex and then check your fit (remove center speaker grille). If it checks out alright, apply a few drops of the silicon adhesive and fit it on your dash and compress it in some way (I used springboards, basically a strip of wood just longer than the distance of the dash-roof and bent it into place, mounted on rubber patches so it wouldn't scratch.)
Anyone have some tan/grey-beige floormats they don't want anymore? I have a set of black ones but don't like them.

Looks nice!
I warped my dash cap sticking assorted wallets/billfolds along the windshield dash line. Looks suck ***. Yours looks right. Next time I have 75 bucks to burn, I will try your method with some dowels or something. Where in California are you?

I gave it a quick vacuum before the shoot, but I usually do keep it relatively clean. Lacrosse practice certainly does take its toll on clean carpets though, hence the need for mats. (bits of grass, dirt, rocks, the works)
It's not hard to keep these cars looking nice with a good vacuum/wipedown once in a while. I haven't washed this car in probably 2 weeks and look at the paint, shiny like it was just sprayed.
By the way, I'm in San Diego.

I might have some pictures of the seats BEFORE the upholstery job...then you'll say otherwise. lol. (I saved the old driver's side leather/vinyl and it is THRASHED)
Thanks for the compliments...I LOVE this car.
As for the cap, it looks pretty good but as you can tell doesn't match the dash color perfectly. It's kind of a muddy brown rather than the rich brown of the car; maybe I'll find some better-matching paint. Eventually I'll replace the whole dash or have the 928leathershop recover it in vinyl.
It does need a refresher coat of paint though; you can't see them but there are deep tree-sap stains on the passenger door, along with worn-to-the-basecoat paint on the roof. Anyone have spare change?

Where did you buy the seat covers? And if was at a local shop do you remember the name of the material? i love that color!
Oh and by the way don't ruin your beautifully stock interior with a cheap and tacky trim kit! Lol

The seats were reupholstered at a local shop in Porsche leather (the parts you contact when you sit, i.e. butt and backrest) along with vinyl sides and back. The color is grey beige. The whole job, for 2 seats plus a fiberglass-reinforced and leather-recovered center console was $745. :]
