Sunroof clutch slipping :(
I pulled apart my whole sunroof system (pulled the tube/cable out completely), shredded the back area of my interior, and cleaned it all, got the motor to run unloaded, but now with the car back together I push the sunroof button and hear the motor whirring, but the gear just doesn't spin. I cleaned up the stack of washers they used as a clutch and put them back in the right order, but they just don't grab.
How can I get the clutch to engage?

Ordinarily, you would loosen the outer nut, tighten the inner nut, and re-tighten the outer nut, using some weaker loctite. You need a thin 13mm wrench to hold the inner one (I took a grinder to a cheap wrench to thin it out, or try a bike shop). There is a proper torquing method for the inner, but I like to set mine up to just barely work for maximum protection of the gears. Retracting the arms was the biggest load.

Early or Late 944?
For late, just tighten the inner nut a little at a time until the clutch no longer slips then lock it down with the outer nut. Don't know about early.
